THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE
BRIDGER-TETON NATIONAL FOREST AVALANCHE CENTER.

THE BRIDGER TETON AVALANCHE CENTER IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE WATCH FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS: ABSAROKA
MOUNTAINS, JACKSON HOLE, STAR VALLEY, AND SALT RIVER AND WYOMING 
RANGES.


* TIMING...IN EFFECT FROM 600 AM MST TODAY UNTIL 600 AM MST
  TUESDAY.

* AFFECTED AREA...AN AVALANCHE WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE
  TOGWOTEE PASS AREA, THE SALT RIVER RANGE, THE WYOMING RANGE, THE
  SNAKE RIVER RANGE, AS WELL AS THE STAR VALLEY, AND JACKSON 
  HOLE.

* AVALANCHE DANGER...IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE GENERAL AVALANCHE
  HAZARD COULD INCREASE TO A HIGH DANGER RATING DURING THE NEXT 
  12 TO 24 HOURS IN THE WATCH AREAS.

* REASON/IMPACTS...PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOWFALL, STRONG WINDS AND
  WARMING TEMPERATURES HAVE ALREADY IMPACTED TRAVEL ON TETON PASS
  AND MAY COMBINE TO CREATE VERY DANGEROUS AVALANCHE CONDITIONS IN
  THE WATCH AREA. WIDESPREAD AVALANCHE ACTIVITY MAY BECOME  
  POSSIBLE. THIS DEVELOPING AVALANCHE HAZARD COULD IMPACT FUTURE 
  TRAVEL IN THE HOBACK AND SNAKE RIVER CANYONS. 

* PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...DANGEROUS CONDITIONS 
  ALREADY EXIST IN THE BACKCOUNTRY. INCREASING AVALANCHE HAZARDS 
  ARE POSSIBLE. CONSIDER POTENTIAL IMPACTS TO ROADWAYS IN YOUR 
  TRAVEL PLANS.

THE BRIDGER TETON AVALANCHE CENTER IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A
BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS: TETON AND
GROS VENTRE RANGES AND YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.

* TIMING...IN EFFECT FROM 600 AM MST TODAY UNTIL 600 AM MST
  TUESDAY. 

* AFFECTED AREA...THE TETON AND GROS VENTRE RANGES AND 
  YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.

* AVALANCHE DANGER...THE GENERAL AVALANCHE HAZARD IS HIGH AT THE  
  MID AND UPPER ELEVATIONS OF THE TETON RANGE. DANGEROUS AVALANCHE
  CONDITIONS ALSO EXIST IN YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK.

* REASON/IMPACTS...ONE TO THREE FEET OF NEW SNOW HAS ALREADY 
  FALLEN IN THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN WYOMING. STRONG WINDS ARE 
  CAUSING AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY WARMING
  TEMPERATURES. THESE CONDITIONS WILL CREATE DANGEROUS AVALANCHE 
  CONDITIONS. LARGE AVALANCHES ARE LIKELY. WIDESPREAD NATURAL 
  AVALANCHE ACTIVITY IS POSSIBLE.
