Since the first part of February,Star Valley has been dealing with almost daily precipitation mostly in the form of snow. The following are the daily observations from Star Valley Ranch. In the 36 day period beginning on February 3rd, there have only been 3 of those days which have been precipitation free, February 9th 13th and 23rd. During this stretch of 36 days, 73 inches of snow have fallen equivalent to a water content of 4.63 inches.
Since Oct 1st, Star Valley Ranch has experienced 180 inches of snow with 14.62 water equivalent.
Looking forward, beginning this week there appears to be a significant change in the expected weather. Following are the 6-10 days and 2-3 week outlooks issued by the National Weather Service.
While skill decreases with the length of forecast time, the above changes should lead to more Spring-like weather with gradually warmer temperatures and diminished precipitation. So there is hope for Spring right around the corner!
