Coldest Morning of the Winter

Clear skies, calm winds and deep snow cover provided the ingredients for the coldest morning of the Winter in Star Valley and the surrounding area.

Below is a map of observed minimum temperatures for this 19th day of February 2020

The coldest observed in Star Valley was the 26 below zero at the Double L Ranch.  It was the coldest there since -27 on January 1, 2019 and not far from the  stations record cold of-33 on January 6 2017.

The mildest area of Star Valley was the upper elevations of Star Valley Ranch where it only hit 3 below.

Elsewhere around the region it was even colder with -27 in Cokeville, -34 in Bondurant and a bone chilling of -48 below at Utah’s ice box, Peter Sinks located near the highway from Bear Lake to Logan UT.
