4.3 Earthquake near Soda Springs this Evening

Earthquake rattles Soda Springs area

SODA SPRINGS — The National Weather Service said a 4.3 magnitude earthquake has struck southeast of Soda Springs.

The Caribou County Sheriff’s Office said the quake occurred at approximately 8:32 p.m. Thursday. Though numerous residents in Caribou County said they felt the earthquake, the sheriff’s office said there have been no reports of damages or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports that 4.3 magnitude quakes have the following impact: “Felt indoors by many, outdoors by few during the day. At night, some awakened. Dishes, windows, doors disturbed; walls make cracking sound. Sensation like heavy truck striking building. Standing motor cars rocked noticeably.
