Star Valley experienced  near normal June precipitation in contrast to last year when virtually no rain fell. Following are rainfall totals for June of 2022.

Comparing June precipitation totals for Star Valley Ranch for the past 12 years illustrates the recent variability.

 

The running total of Star Valley Ranch  precipitation for the current water year, indicates it is on track for a near normal year of around 25 inches.

 

Statewide June was highlighted by the particularly heavy totals in the Yellowstone National Park area.

 

Upwards of 10 plus inches occurred in the northern part of YNP northward into Montana over the Bear Tooth Mountains.

 

 

Coupled with a cool spring the precipitation of May and June has provided a later than normal runoff and a significant increase of the Palisades Reservoir storage this past month.
